2022 Atlantic Fire Leadership Conference

COVID challenges. Lockdowns. Vaccines. Firefighter absenteeism. Cancer. The loss of parents and family members. Union issues. Family and personal matters. When the world changed in March 2020 and everyone was flying blind, a small group of chiefs (and associated fire-service types!) took their conference friendship online. 
For almost two years, Team Red has met weekly via Zoom to vent, learn, teach, console, strategize, exchange resources and help each other navigate the new normal. Most importantly, Team Red has strengthened the mental health of every participant and led to solutions to fire-department and personal challenges through the pandemic.
Team Red, conceived several years ago during a CAFC conference in St. John’s, has proven the importance of a network of friends and colleagues who will, without fail, support each other. 
With members from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, Team Red is a truly national group of colleagues.
With real-life examples and anecdotes, our presentation and panel discussion will emphasize the importance of networking, and the value of being able to phone a friend in the midst of the chaos caused by a COVID, a tough call, a cancer diagnosis, a sudden loss, or just a tough day at the office.
